Tail Wheel Strut
Howard is currently in the final phases of refining a fix for the tail wheel strut on the Howard Aircraft. Similar technology to the main landing gear assembly has been applied to the tail strut, which elliminates the “bottoming-out” and “thumping” observed with the old tail wheel strut. The increased stability of the newly designed tail wheel strut will be noticeable on all ground operations, but especially during three-point landings. The engineering is complete on the tail wheel strut redesign, and Howard is currently working on FAA approval for the re-engineered equipment. Once FAA approval is received for the tail wheel strut, Howard Landing Gear LLC will offer the modification to customers.
